Pacific Home on the Move
03/01/2006
(Honolulu, Hawaii)….Pacific Home announces the grand opening of the company’s new Ward Avenue location, with doors opening to the public on March 15, 2006. The furniture, home accessories and design store expands its retail business by moving from its original Young Street store to a much larger location at 420 Ward Avenue.
Pacific Home first opened its doors at the Young Street location with great success in August 2004. In just under two years, the company has seen a need to expand to better assist their customers as well as showcase their expanding line of products. The new Ward Avenue space is 6,600 square feet.
“Having that type of floor space will really allow our customers to see, touch, and experience more of our furniture offerings,” explained owner and founder, Aubrey Morgan-Yee.
Jenn Johnson, Pacific Home’s other founder and co-owner, added, “The new, comfortable, spacious surroundings also permit us to add more furniture lines and designer accessories.”
Pacific Home is the exclusive Hawaii retailer for Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams furniture, manufactured completely in the United States. In addition to Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams products, the new venue will showcase a new line of indoor-outdoor furniture. Created by Janus Et Cie and Dedon, these pieces are made of recycled woven plastic that looks like rattan and is perfect poolside, on a covered lanai, or inside the home. Another new line, Gervasoni, is an Italian collection in rattan, teak, et al.
“Our customers have been so receptive to our current furniture lines and accessories that we searched for a bigger space so we could feature even more wonderful items that Hawaii residents have trouble finding locally,” explained Ms. Johnson.
Ms. Yee commented that the new store will be divided into different areas including bedroom furniture and accessories, living and dining room furniture and accessories, and an area devoted just to outdoor living.
Pacific Home has also expanded its staff and services, all in an effort to continue their goal of providing the best customer service possible. Jamie Jackson has come aboard as the third partner at Pacific Home to assist customers who want a full service interior designer to help them. Jamie has an extensive background in interior design, including designing director/actor Ben Stiller’s private home on Kauai.
“Whether it’s a few consultations or a full-blown redesign of the entire home, we’re here to listen and help you express your design desires,” said Ms. Jackson, adding, “If you only need help with floor plans and furniture in one particular room, you can try the Pacific Home “One Room” design program where one of our design experts will visit your home to assess your design elements and expectations in a particular room. The consultation fee will be applied to any purchase of furniture in the store.”
Another great deal is the company’s monthly Pacific Home StyleIn, free, hands-on demonstrations from selected experts in the field of design. The educational gathering is a way for both repeat and new customers to learn, share, and ask questions of top professionals in the field of design.
“The Pacific Home StyleIns continue to gather momentum. Where else can you get complimentary wine and light pupu while learning about design?” noted Ms. Jackson. “We’ve brought in architects, interior designers, stylists – even plant designers – and we’ll continue to find new ways to present the latest and brightest ideas in home living.”
